Project 2007 + TFS 2008 + TFS 2008 web access ????

Hi!

we just install TFS 2008 and the web access. In our team we use Project 2007
(without project server) and want to use it with TFS 2008 on the TFS 2008 web
access. Is anywhere a good tutorial / video / web cast available how to use
MS project 2007 with TFS 2008?

Kind Regards,

...OK.. I do not really have time to wait until someone produce a video for
this stuff Smile
I will shortly describe what I have and I want:

....Ok I have a TFS 2008 with web access. In one project I upload on the
document area a Project 2007 file.
My problem is how to update the mpp file and the work items.

This is the way I try it:

1. Check out the mpp file
2. click on the mpp file in the web access...the file opens.
3. connect to the TFS 2008
4. make some changes to the document
5. press the publish button on the team tool bar.
6. close the mpp file
7. check in the document in the TFS 2008 web access

but this doesn't really works for me...

When I now open now the mpp file from the TFS 2008 web access all changes
made by me on the last check out are missing..... but the publish work items
on the TFS are there and are OK.... when I now press the refresh button on
the team tool bar nothing happens...

What is wrong with my workflow?

Hi Pawel,

What's TFS 2008? If it is a server, then you should try posting on the
server newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs,
companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this

This looks more like a TFS problem than a Project problem. Use Project to
manage the overall project and deliver of business objectives and TFS for
managing programming tasks. There isn't any interaction between the two
unless you use Project Server and even then it is of limited use. Link below
is to a blog discussing this.
