Project 2007 Trial - Can't Save Files

A

anotherFan

Hi,

A few people in my class downloaded and installed the Project 2007 trial.
They are able to open the program, but they are unable to save files (save
and save as are greyed out in the menu).

Several users seem to have this problem, but I did not find a solution
online. - Please help, if you were able to fix this!

Thanks!

Hello anotherFan,

Does the problem persist after they exit and restart Project? Have
they tried restarting their computer?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Users of the Microsoft Office Project 2007 trial version must activate the
software over the Internet before the software has full capabilities. Hope
this helps.

Activate the files???

Hello all.
What do you mean by Activate the File? I burned the trial version onto a CD
then launched it on my laptop. I used the password given and this is all that
it asked me to do-

Hello Activate,

Go to Help > Activate Product to activate Project. If you do not
activate Project it will only allow a limited number of starts before
it goes into "reduced functionality" mode. I believe saving files is
one of the reductions in functionality.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for jumping in to help this user. I'm writing right now, and don't
have much time to monitor the questions, except occasionally with I get
bored with writing! :) By the way, we had this users exact same problem in
classes last week.

Happy to pitch in Dale. Hope the writing is going well. I am also
monitoring the ng to amuse myself while updating my material as well.
It's amazing what I'll do to avoid real work :)

I haven't seen the problem with lack of activation, but did have odd
problems when a user installed the trial version and did not re-boot
after installation.
