Project Application Service

I am trying to get the Project Application Service to start on Windows 2008.
When I go to the Central Admin site and start the service, it acts like it
starts, but when the page refreshed, it says that the service is stopped...
is there a way to start the service via STSADM?

We had the same issue a couple of weeks back with trying to get Project
Server 2007 running on Windows 2008 - never got passed it, im afraid...
