I'm trying to find some effective ways to use Office 2003 and Exchange
Server in our office. I have had a few requests, but they seem kind of
like hacks. Can anyone recommend some best practices for the following
scenarios?
First, we would like to set up some calendars to track projects for
particular clients. They would be strictly internal calendars, and
would be used to get an overview of upcoming and current projects. It
seems like a clever idea, but I wonder if there is a better way.
Second, we want to give our HR dept a way to track availability.
Someone suggested setting up "Vacations" and "Production" calendars and
using them as resources. Presumably, every time an employee schedules
a meeting or vacation time, he would invite the appropriate resource.
Maybe the HR coordinator would have to accept the appointment to
approve the time off.
Anyway, that sounds like a bit of a hack, too. Is there a clever way
to do these things, without getting into third-party software and
workaround hacks?
Thanks,
Joseph
