Hello.
I have the following problem. I have a MS Project Central 2000 Server on
Windows NT Server platform. I configured user accounts and everything seems
fine until I try to open a project view and get the error that cold not find
the public shere or access is denied or file too large. I read some Microsft
articles but to no avail. I save the project file by usin the UNC path on
sherd place on the server ewhere the IIS account has permissions. i checked
on that based an article from Microsft tech paper.

Wht else I can do to resolve this?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

Method 1:
Saving a Project on the Project Central Server using the UNC [Universal
Naming Convention] path in the format:
\\server name\sharename\project name
\\169.xxx.123.yy\financeshare\projectZOO
It is important to ensure that the file is being saved as type: Project
(*.mpp)
Click “Save†and wait for file transfer confirmation.
Click “OKâ€.

Method 2:
Submit Project file to Project Central:
Prior to the submission of Project files, a project manager will require
explicit access permission to the appropriate project repository on the
server. The project file should be Saved on the server and Updated to the Web
server afterwards.

Mapping a Drive to the server repository would ensure a secure connection:
1.Start Windows NT Explorer or Network Neighbourhood.
2.Use Map Network Drive Icon or right-click Network Neighborhood.
3.Drive: Use the alphabet shown by system automatically
4.Path: \\169.xxx.123.yy\destination_folder
5.Connect as <your NT user id >
6.Reconnect at Logon : Yes
7.Then Click OK. Enter your password and Click OK.
***The IP address could be substituted for the fully qualified domain name
(FQDN)of the server as \\finance.dove.gb.mycorp.com\destination_folder****

I hope this helps your situation.
