Project check in 2007

O

OPD

I can upload a project and publish to enterprise. I can close and check in
the project several times and it work fine. The next time I try to open a
file the server tells me the project is checked out you can only open read
only, even though it was me who opened it last time.

I can force check it back in via PWA but in full blown project if I try to
open the file project is still saying it is checked out. There is no que and
there is no project checked out in PWA.

Its annoying and I keep having to open read only, save it and upload it
again then attach the work space.

Does anybody know what this problem is and is there a fix.

Hi there ,

Check your SP level and clear out the local Project Cache.

Should work

Yes, this is a known bug. Service Pack 2 is supposed to fix this issue.

OPD,

I have found that deleting everything in the Cache folder makes this go away
for extended periods.

I go to C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Microsoft\MS
Project\Cache and delete everything inside this folder. When you restart
Project is will recreate the necessary files.

I have SP2 installed an I still had the same problem. However, the cache on
the client machine was not cleared and the pc not was not used before or
after the upgrade to sp2. It was cleared after encountering this issue. I
wonder if our client machine had this problem before our upgraded and it
lingered even after. I hope since we installed SP2, it prevents this from
occuring again.

I hope it solves the problem. The scenario you describe is probably
possible,

Installing SP2 did not fix the issue for me. However, i read another posting
about the same problem that mentions another fix KB953326. I'm going to
install this update and see if it helps.

I am having the same issue at a client and I am testing if the use of
roaming profiles are causing the problem with check in pending. Are
you by any chance using roaming profiles in your environment?
