Project continues to be checked out

Michelle

There have been many instances in our server environment
that a project manager opens a project through PWA,closes
it, then exits professional and the project continues to
show being checked out. Does anyone know why this is the
case?

Thanks!
Michelle

PS..Thank you to everyone that has helped me out lately.
This newsgroup is awesome!!!

If you are using Project Server 2002, there are issues associated with
closing a project plan using the X button in the upper right corner of the
project. Doing so occasionally caused the project to get "stuck" in a
checked out state. Because of this, I would recommend using File - Close to
close the project. Hope this helps.

We are using Project Server 2003 with Professional 2003
and are still experiencing this problem.
I will instruct the users to do a file close regardless.

It's most likely to happen as a result of closing the application without
first closing the project plan. Sometimes it takes a while for the file
close procedure to write the information to the database and then send the
instructions to the views service to checkin the file.
