Hi Ramki,
There is another way to delete the project, but this is quite risky, and i
am not sure of the precise impact of this step - as always ensure you have
decent backups available before making any drastic changes to your sytem!
Basically what it entails is creating a ODBC connection to your project
server database, connecting to the database directly using MS Project Pro,
and deleting the project.
A) CREATING A NEW ODBC CONNECTION
1. Click "Start ? Control Panel ? Administrative Tools ? Data Sources
(ODBC)".
2. Click the "System DSN" tab, and click the "Add" button.
3. Select "SQL Server" from the list, and click "Finish"
4. On the next screen, in the "Name" field, type in a name for the
connection. The name can be anything. If required, type in a description
as well, but this is optional. Then type in the server name in the last
field. The server name is the name of your SQL Server that runs the Project
Server database, and then click the Next button.
5. On then next screen accept the defaults, and click the Next button
6. On the next screen, tick the option "Change the default database to:",
and select the Project Server database (normally called ProjectServer)
7. On the next screen, again accept the defaults, and click Finish.
8. In the next dialog box, click the "Test Data Source" button, to test the
connectivity. If the tests are succesful, the following screen will appear.
B) CONNECTING TO THE DATABASE USING THE DSN
1. Open up Project Professional, and select the "My Computer" option, and
click the "Work Offline" button to work offline.
2. Click "File ? Open"
3. Select the "Machine Data Sources" tab, select the DSN , and click OK.
4. Project will now open up a list of the projects in your database, and
when you click the little X at the top right, when a project is selected it
deletes the project from the database.
thanks
