Project Footers

J

Jon

I am setting up Project Server 2003 and have added some information in
the FOOTERS within the Global file thinking it would transfer into the
projects.
For example I have the file name in the left tab. I have Page x of x
Pages in the center tab and in the right tab I have the date and time.
This is in the Global file and appears when I open the Global.

When I print preview a project on the server the information is not
there. I am trying to set this as a default so people don't have to
include this every time they want to make a print.

There are other defaults I would like to incorporate within each
project through the Global file if I can. For example setting
specific text to a certain color.

Am I expecting to see something that can't be done? Can I accomplish
this another way?

Help!

Thanks,
Jon

My recommendation is that you create the Footer in the Enterprise Global
file for the Enterprise Gantt Chart view and any other Views that are
strictly enterprise Views. Then, teach your people to apply an enterprise
View before printing. I do not believe you should add local Views, such as
the Gantt Chart or Resource Sheet, to your Enterprise Global as it will
trigger a warning message EVERY TIME a user opens a project. It will get
annoying and frustrating to everyone involved, including you. Stick with
enterprise Views only and create your Footers in each of those, and then ask
your people to print using enterprise Views only. Hope this helps.

Jon,

Alternatively, you could create a Global template that included the
footer information and make it a standard that all new projects
originate from this template.

Thanks Dale, didn't realize I had to modify each view. Works fine.
