How do I remove a template from My Templates in the Project Gallery?

Delete (or move) the file from the

My Templates

folder which is found in the

~:Library:Application Support:Microsoft:Office:User Templates

folder (where ~ is your home directory).

Extending on what John replied, in OS X deletion of files & folders must be
done in Finder ‹ you can't delete or rename while in the Open or Save As
dialogs of an application program.
