Project Hangs when trying to open a file

Question:

1. Does a project's file size make a difference on upload
time to project server?

I have over 1,000 line items and it takes many, many
minutes to open my files and 5-10 minutes to save it back
to project server.

Could my file be corrupted? Any way to fix this? Any other
ideas?

Raven,

You may want to try to turn off the Automatic Calculation
option under Tools/Options/Calculations since I believe
each time your posting it to the server you are
recalculating the entire project. Just remember you'll
need to manually recalculate the project.

Are you on the same local network with Project Server? We have often seen
this when trying to use Project Server over a Wide Area Network. In those
instances we have recommended Citrix or Windows Terminal Services.

How would one obtain these patches from Microsoft? Is there any other
source for them?

Microsoft is the only source for these. Microsoft does not charge licensed
users for bug fixes, so call the appropriate phone number for support in
your area.
