What does the prioeity mean in the project information dialog box mean. By
default it is set to 500? What is the purpose of that number

Hi,

Read the help on resource leveling.
The priority that is mentioned in there exists on task level(you can insert
he priority column or set it through Task Information, General), and on
Project lmevel which sis used when you level multiple consolidated projects.
It is a figure 0-1000, 1000 being the highest priority.
