Project Level RAG graphical indicator NOT driven from the schedule

Steve

Hi, I want a simple RAG graphical indicator showing in Project Centre views
for a value based on a project level custom field from a drop down option of
eg red, amber, green. I can get the data value showing ie the text selected
but not the Graphical indicator...am I doing something wrong or is it not
feasible?

First I would verify that the graphical indicators show up in the schedule
in Project Pro. Do the graphical indicators show in Project Professional?

Please describe you how set up the custom field.

Hi Steve,

Sure that is feasable and often done. Here is what you do

Create a Lookup Table called "RAG" and enter the values you wish to chooose
when using the drop down window.

Create a Custom fields ( most likely a text field) and connect your Lookup
Table to the Custom field.
Within the custom field settings select "Graphical Indicator" ( I think
that's what its called - sorry doing that out of my head at the moment :) I
know you will find it).

The Graphical indicator dialog window appeas.
Enter the information in the Graphcal indicator section ( e.g. equal / "Your
Text from Lookup Table" / the traffic light you wish to see). Select ok to
save the custom field.

Open Project Professional. Your PM can now choose the drop down from the
Field you created in the Project Information dialog window. When you publish
the Project now to Project Server and have entered the field you created in
your Project Center view you will be able to see the traffic light.

I hope that wasnt to high level. If so please let me know
Thanks
