'Project Link' field type

Hi,

Has anyone noticed (in PS 2007) that when a new workspace is provisioned
there is a field called 'Links' with type as 'Project Link' in the Issues
List. This field actually links the Issues to Project Tasks, Documents and
Other Issues.

However, while creating a new column in Issues List I am not finding the
'Project Link' data type. You might wonder why would I want to have two of
them but the problem is in my production installation that field somehow got
removed from Issues List. I need to get that back to link Project Issues to
Project Tasks but cannot find that data type at all.

An internet search with 'Project Link' data type does not yield meaningful
results.

Any help is appreciated.

is tis not a Wss3.o issue rather then PS07 issue ??

and should not the link be visable o n the main tab's (PWA) when you create
the issue/risk ect ?? << Attach File | Spelling... | Link Items >> is
defaulted correct ?

Yes, that is what should be there while creating a new Issue but the 'Link
Items' link is not there while 'Attach Files' is there.

I did not find a way to bring the 'Link Items' (Issues List) back if the
'Link' field in the Issues List is deleted by mistake.

The way PS2007 is integrated with WSS3.0 (actually runs on it), I find it
difficult to identify whether this is arising due to PS 2007 or WSS 3.0

Not sure if this will work

In project work space ( e.g Issues)
nav bar = "New | Actions | Settings "
click on Settings
Select List settings
click on create column
Create Column title "link" and make sure that's it "Hyperlink or Picture"
enabled

this should reflect a link bar under "new issue"

let me know if this works.. and its more of a Wss3.0 issue

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the reply. I have not used the word 'Deleted' in my first post
since I do not remember that I actually did it, but somehow I was unable to
find the 'Link Items' menu at the top of the default 'Issues List'.

However, even if it got deleted by some other member by mistake, as my
knowledge goes, it will not be in the Recycle Bin as column deletions are not
tracked. If the entire list was deleted then it could be restored from the
Recycle Bin.

Nobody yet could give me an answer that how a 'Issue List' field with data
type 'Project link' can be created. I am really in soup as I cannot show
Project Tasks created against Issues (Relation: Task Resolves issue) from
Issues List. I can very well access the Issues List from 'Project Center -
Project Detail - Task View - Action - Link Issues'.

I hope I am able to describe the problem clearly for all.

Any alternative suggestion (other than re-install :) is also welcome)

Please help.

If you accidentally deleted the item, did you look for it in the recylcling
bin?
