Project Offline

If the project is taken offline for updating & during this
period if team members fill in the timesheet. The team
will still be viewing the old plan on the server while
filling in the timesheets. Will the PM be able to update
the actuals in the plan based on the new project update?
How does it work? Please explain...

David:

Everything continues as normal, except nobody else can edit the plan while
it's off line. When the plan comes back online, the PM can update the
changes sent by resources. The one thing PMs should never do when working
with an offline plan is remove tasks that resources have active assignments
against. Assignment removals and task deletions are best handled online.
