project owner & task Project Manager changing

O

OK

I have a project, I am its owner. All email notifications on its tasks progress come to me.
I want to make my colleague the owner of this project. I can do it, but for all tasks I am still the Project Manager and I have all these email notifications instead of him.

Is there a way to avoid it
I see only directly I can change the nProject Manager ame in the SQL DB, but this way isn't so safe, as I wish
Could you recomend any solution?

I'm not sure whether you want the new owner of the project to also become
the manager for the project, but if this is the case, have the new owner do
the following:

1. Open the project
2. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
3. Select the "Become the manager for these assignments" option
4. Click the OK button

Doing so will redirect all future task updates to the new manager of the
project. If the new owner is receiving the assignments and you want to be
the one to still receive them, then you need to perform the steps above.
Hope this helps.

Is it possible to assign a selected user in PM role to the project, and save it, so he's PM of the project in the future

I mean, imagine the situation

PMO manages all the projects, creates project schedules, assigns the project teams. Within the project team they need to select a project manager (due to security consequences in PWA). It is not possible for PM to open the project and reassign the tasks, as PM's don't have the Project Professional. I know it's quite a rare solution, but that's the way it is.

Any idea?

Jan:

In order to be a PM in Project Server, the user must have a copy of Project
Pro. Only users with the full client may physically manage projects on the
server.
