Project Plan offline

David

Is it possible to take a project plan offline from the
server, mail it to the PM. Have the PM work on the plan,
mail it back to the administrator & then have it saved
online again? Which folder is the offline file stored? Any
ideas appreciated?
Regards,
David

David, did you get an answer to this question? I'm having
the same problem. It says offline on the server, but it's
not on my hd.

To access an Offline file on your hard drive, you actually need to log into
Project Server in Offline mode. To do this, complete the following steps:

1. Launch Microsoft Project
2. In the Microsoft Project Server Accounts dialog box, select your Project
Server account and click Work Offline
3. Click File - Open

You should now see your Offline project listed in the Open from Microsoft
Project Server dialog box. If on step #2 above, you do not see the
Microsoft Project Server Accounts dialog box, then you will need to do the
following additional steps to make the dialog box appear automatically each
time you log into Project Server

1. Launch Microsoft Project
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Microsoft Project Server Accounts
3. Select the "Manually control connection state" option
4. Click OK
5. Close Microsoft Project and relaunch Microsoft Project

Hope this explanation helps.

David,

I wouldn't mail a project plan to anyone. If you mail a plan, it would
have to be a .mpp file, which would then no longer be an enterprise
project. So when you got the plan back, you would probably have to
delete the original plan from the server and reimport the plan you got
back from your PM. Dale, is this correct?
