Project Portfolio Server 2007 - Active Directory Authentication?

Does Project Portfolio Server 2007 support Active Directory authentication or
do I need to create new user accounts and passwords for all users who may
potentially use it? I do plan to integrate with Project Server in the future
but have not done so yet.

I forgot to mention - if it DOES support AD authentication, how do you set it
up? I have looked everywhere on the Internet and in Microsoft's documentation
and websites and there is no reference to configuring Portfolio Server with
AD authentication. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
