Project Predecessors should have mouse over to ID the Task Name

Jeff Cellio, PMP

I would like to see MS Project's Predecessor column have a mouse over ‘pop
up’ to show the Task Name for each of the Task ID number(s) populated.

I use MS Project 2k and 2k3 Professional with Project Server 2k3.

Jeff,
Fine, so go to the Microsoft Project webpage at:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/FX010857951033.aspx
and click on the link for "suggest new content"

Are you aware that the information is already available in a different
form? By using a split screen and showing the Relationship Diagram in
the lower screen, the names of Predecessor and Successor tasks will be
shown in network diagram form.

John,

Microsoft has started using the web interface to the newsgroups as a method
to accept suggestions.
So as far as I know, this is the right place to make them.
Jack,
I wasn't aware of that, but now I am. Thanks

For tasks with many predecessors or successors, this would be very difficult
to do. Why not simply split the screen, right mouse click on the task form in
the bottom pane and select predecessors and successors? This would require
you to actually select a task to see its named predecessors and sucessors,
but it's the only way to see all predecessors and successors when there are
many.

A side benefit of using the split screen is that you can actually use the
task pane for entering predecessors and successors by name, so that you don't
need to look for the ID or Unique ID of the predecessor or successor.
