Project Pro 2003 login error

R

Ripper

We recently migrated out Project Server implementation to a DMZ. After this
migration some of our users get prompted for login when they run PWA. These
same users can not access PPro with a "you are not authorized to view this
page". The majority of our users do not have a problem. The error has
occurred with users that are directly connected to the corporate LAN. But we
have other users, directly connected, that do not have the error.

Any ideas?

Assuming that you've created the Windows Accounts and the Resources
using Windows Account do this:

Enter PWA go to Site Actions -> Site Settings -> Users and Permissions
-> People and Groups and give permissions to the users to access pwa
by entering their names on this list

To allow users to Open Projects you must go to Resource Center, pick a
Resource ->Edit Details and give the users permission to Log On and
create new Projects

Hope it helps,

All users had the appropriate security permissions set up prior to migration
and these permissions have not changed but....the access has changed.

Hi,

After migration some permissions do change, you will have to check it
again...

Besides thar users must be "registred" in pwa site in order to login
to pwa, that's why you'll have to create this access in pwa->site
actions->site settings..

Hope it helps,

Did the URL change? If so, try adding the new address as a trusted web
site in IE properties.

If the address did not change, is there a firewall between internal
users and the DMZ? If so, verify that the packets are making it
through.

These users can access the system through Citrix so the Project Server
settings are good. We did change the URL but it is in their Trusted sites.
99% of the users are accessing fine but there are 2 that are not.

Is there a firewall in between this users and the DMZ where the server
resides? One way to diagnose is to see if the firewall is seeing the
packets at all.

To isolate if this is a Project Server issue or something else, are
the users prompted for a login at all? Can they get to other resources
on the server? (To test, add a new virtual directory to IIS, add a
file to the directory, in directory security allow anonymous access,
and see if they can access that file.)
