Matt Freestone

Hello everyone. I am running Project Pro 2003 SP1 and am attempting to
connect to Project Server 2003 running on a Server 2003 box in a domain. I
am also running Sharepoint Portal Server on the same box. When trying to
connect to project server I get this error;
You are not authorized to view this page

credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a
WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to
accept.

Please try the following:

a.. Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able
to view this directory or page.
b.. Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials.
HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server
configuration.

Technical Information (for support personnel)

a.. Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search
for the words HTTP and 401.
b.. Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and
search for topics titled About Security, Authentication, and About Custom
Error Messages.
What have I configured incorrectly on my IIS virtual server? I need to get
this resolved ASAP.

Thanks,
Matt

Matt:

If you installed Project Server in a virtual directory under a site extended
with WSS, then you must also add the path to Project Server to the excluded
list in the managed paths for SharePoint. Does this apply to you?
