Project Pro 2007 task start date

We're running with Project Server. I don't know that it makes a difference. I
have a PM that is starting a plan, her first plan. Whenever she attempts to
add a task it's fine until she add a resource. Then it changes the start date
to sometime out in 2012. I can open her plan and create a task, and assign a
resource and the start is 7/29/2009. When I view it, the entire plan looks
fine. It ends in 2009. When she opens it, it end 2013. Any suggestions? I'm
stumped.
