Project Pro connection problem

Morning,

this issue has been discussed many times, but here it comes again. Been
searching through newsgroups, but didn't find a suitable answer to solve my
problem.

Project Pro gets this error:

Microsoft Project was unable to establish a connection with the selected
Microsoft Project Server. This coul be caused...

Testing connection from Project Pro is OK. So this is most likely
authentication error. Tried some suggestions from groups, but didn't help
(language issue).

Clients are on W2k Pro SP2 and all have Project Pro with fixes and latest
MDAC. One workstation connects with no problem, two of them get this error.
All users can connect from one workstation that works and nobody from other
two. All users can connect with browser from everywhere. Windows
authentication is used.

Office 2000 SR-1 is installed on machines. Could this be an issue? Because
Project Pro is from Office 2002 family. I suspect that Project Pro is using
some older components for authentication, but I don't know which. So my
question is, which component (dll) is responsible for Project Pro
authentication with server? Can this be related to Office 2000 SR-1? Or is
this out of the line, but I really don't have any more ideas what could be
wrong.

Regards,
jang
