Hi All,
I having this problem while testing connection to the
project server with project pro. Should I connect using
http://machinename/projectserver OR http://machinename.DNS
name/projectserver? I need to access Project Server on the
Internet. Which URL should I use for Intranet users?
The installation has been done using local
administrator account & separate users for
OLAP,STS,ProjectServer have been created.
Any help would be appreciated urgently!!

David

Thanks, my problem is when I use the
http://machinename.dns suffix/projectserver inorder to
test connection from MS Project Professional it does not
connect getting message as "Unexpected server response".

Should the full computer name (machine name.dns suffix) be
used to establish connection in Project Prof OR should
only the machine name be used without the dns suffix.
Also, regarding trusted sites in Internet Explorer should
the full computer name (machine name.dns suffix) be added
OR only the machine name be added?
Please any help appreciated from anyone familiar with
Project Server Internet Implementations.

Regards,
David

HI David,

Use machine name, no suffix for both and you should be good to go.

Hi David,

When you try to connect to Project server over Internet connection, there
may be a problem with your firewal settings.
Project server requires to open another port (not only port 80, or 443), for
some ODBC Connection.

I suggest you try publish Project professionall over internet with terminal
server.
