Project Pro error connecting to Server

MAS

I have seen this posted a few times. The solutions that were posted did not
solve my problem. I am running SP1 for Server and Pro. After upgrading I can
not connect to server from Pro. I get "Project server encountered a problem
with error code 42" and this for more info "<detail><errinfo><general><class
name="An unhandled exception occurred in WinProj.ReadProjectCoreData."><error
id="42" name="GeneralUnhandledException"
uid="e49b4edb-7aaa-4e0f-984f-04f1dc2b78f4"/></class></general></errinfo></detail>"
.. When I click OK - the only way to continue - it tells me that "project
could not retrieve the enterprise global template. There seems to be a
problem with the database". Everything was fine before SP1 was applied. The
URLs appear to be correct. No one can connect via project pro and you can not
create a new project via PWA's Project Center. Please help, thank you.

MAS,

Try renaming the Global.mpt file to global.mpt.bak. The file can be
found in C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data
\Microsoft\MS Project\12\1033. If this doesn't work, you could always
run the stored procedure to recreate the enterprise global.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried renaming and that didn't help. How would I
run the stored procedure to recreate the enterprise global?

I ran Sharepoint Products and Technoligies Configure Wizard once again ...
which is in Start -> Program -> Administrative Tools ...

After which I am able to connect to Enterprise Project Professional from MSP.
