Project Professional 2007 accessing files created in MS Project 20

I cannot open a .mpp file that was originally created in MS Project 2003, and
subsequently opened and saved in Project Standard 2007. This can be opened
in Project Standard 2007, but not Project Professional 2007.

Is there a conversion that needs to occur
