Project Professional and Project Server

We are using and enterprise template to create new projects so that they use
a consistent format and WBS. Each project is started by selecting the
enterprise template and then publishing out the file with the new project
name.

The problem is that whenever we go to open the file again to make changes we
get a problem on the gantt and resource charts to replace or ignore. If we
replace then an additional gantt with the new name gets created. So now I
will have the default gantt and a new one called kt gantt with both showing
in the toolbar with any other custom ones that have been created.

Do you know why this is happening and how we can correct it?

The problem is caused by your Project Server administrator, who accidentally
"polluted" the Enterprise Global file with non-enterprise objects. The
Enterprise Global file is reserved for only enterprise objects, such as the
Enterprise Gantt Chart and Enterprise Entry table, and should never contain
non-enterprise objects such as the Gantt Chart or Resource Sheet views or
the Entry table.

To solve this problem, your Project Server administrator should do the
following:

1. Log into Project Server through Microsoft Project Professional with
administrator permissions
2. Open the Enterprise Global file
3. Click Tools - Organizer
4. Click the Views tab
5. In the list of views on the right, delete any non-enterprise views (do
not delete the Enterprise Gantt Chart)
6. Click the Tables tab
7. In the list of tables on the right, delete any non-enterprise tables (do
not delete the Enterprise Entry table)
8. Click the Close button
9. Save and close the Enterprise Global file
10. Ask everyone to close and then relaunch Microsoft Project Professional

Hope this helps.
