Project Professional config to connect to Project Server

Mariana

I'm running Project Professional on Windows XP, Project Server on
Windows 2003.
From the computers running Project Professional i can access Project
Web Access. But when Project Professional tries to open a file or
access the server i get a connection error. I'm prompted to select the
connection, and when i choose the server where Project Server is
running the connection goes through. I tested pinging the server, that
works too.

Does anyone know how to determine the default connection for Project
professional?

Thanks in advance

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this group is going to close
down. To answer your question, did you create a login account in Microsoft
Project Professional, with which to log into Project Server? Refer to the
following FAQ for the directions to create this login account:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/CreatePMLoginAccount.htm

Please let us know if you followed the steps detailed in the FAQ.

Thanks fot the note on this group. I didnt know there was a
project.server newsgroup.

I followed those steps, I had that set up already. The only thing I
changed is to go "manually" instead of "automatically"

I can do File Open and choose a project, then the the window pops up
with the SQL Login error, i leave the same authentication information
and just change "localhost" to myserver and it connects.
It does the same every time i try to publish information, or import
resources, etc.

I have Project Professional 2003 sp2 and project server 2003 sp1
Thanks
