Project Renaming Tool

Is it really necessary to do the install of the Project Renaming utility
using the built in Windows Administrator account on the Project Server 2003
web server?

Here's my problem: we have a 2 server (app on one, SQL server on the other)
configuration that resides in an off-site datacenter which forces me to
perform Administrative tasks via Terminal Services. Instead of the built-in
Administrator account, I have an Active Directory account that is part of the
Administrators group on both servers, as well as the Administrators group in
Project Server itself.

The install of the Rename Utility seems to go okay, I can register the DLL
(at least, that is what Windows tells me), and the registry entry makes it in
- I checked it manually.

Still, when I run the utility, either a) I can't login with a Project Server
Authentication account, or b) I use the "Trusted connection" option, which I
assume switches on Windows Authentication, and I can log in and pull up a
list of all the server projects, but then I get a generic "unexpected error
has occured" message when I actually try to rename one of them.

Can anyone help me understand what's going wrong?

I have the same 2 server set up and experienced the exact same problem with
the utility.
However, the utility did run successfuly and rename a project on my test
system where all MS Project server components are on one server.

I too am looking for help to understand what's wrong.
