How do I export a Microsoft Project costs/cash flow report and save as a
separate file?

You can't, as such, but if you have software on your system to create
PDF files (such as Adobe Acrobat or another product), you can print the
report to a PDF file and save it on your system.

Peter,
Another option is to use the "analyze timescale data in Excel"
utility/add-in. In can be run from the Task Usage and/or Resource Usage
views to get different cuts on the data.
