Project Server 2002 issue

James Martin

Hi,

We have encountered a very strange problem. We had some view issues recently
with OLAP views not being processed very quickly. We found that the ViewDrop
folder was "holding" XML files for a long period of time (up to 36 hours)
before they were being processed.

This seemed to correct itself eventually but I am curious as to why it would
take so long to process the XML files in the View Drop folder - I thought
this was almost instant !

If anyone has any ideas/answers or suggestions I would be grateful.

Also in trying to track down the cause of this problem we enabled the
SetTrace utility and started to see errors in the Application Log. What's
baffling is that these errors seem to refer to a C:\Proj10 folder which
doesn't exist (and never has) on our server.

There are several hundred errors which are all similar and point to
subfolders off the c:\Project 10\WebClient\source\server directory and files
which have a .cpp extension (at least most of them do).

Can anyone explain these errors and what they mean ? And why do they
point to a non existent directory ?

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

James

James:

All kinds of errors doesn't mean much. It really helps to
have the exact error text quoted back. It sounds like you
are having authentication issues in the system, which
indicates that your server isn't configured properly.
