Stuart - I do not believe that configuration is supported - the post entitled Project 2003 integration with Sharepoint 3.0 Options seems to support that opinion. (although the post is a year old)

B Ben Howard Sep 29, 2007 #3 Chris is correct. However, you could put WSS3.0 in other parts of your org, just not the server (or farm) supporting your current PS2003 server.
