Has anyone run into this: An install of Project Server 2003 in an
organization that is not using Exchange. What they are using are generic
email accounts through their ISP.
What features won't be available?

I have installed project server where they were not using exchange. They were
using Lotus notes there was no issue sending mail though that. You can even
use SMTP server to send mail. Let me know if you need more detials.

Catharine:

The only feature you may not be able to use is notifications and reminders.
If the ISP is cooperative, then you should be able to overcome this with
their help. You'll need to have them allow SMTP mail relay from your Project
Server if they have connection restrictions or logon requirements. Project
Server is not capable of sending a logon, so they must permit the relay
based on the IP address.

Any SMTP server will do, so you could use the one provided by SQL to generate
the SMTP email.
