Project Server 2007 and SQL Server 2005

Chris Hughes(UK)

Hi

I have downloaded the final version of Project Server 2007 from Microsoft
Licensing and have completed the install with no problems
As stated in the Readme file I have installed SP1 for SQL Server.

Everytime I try and build a cube I get the following error

===== Process Completed =====
[11/27/2006 7:23 PM] Failed to build the OLAP cubes. Error: Analysis
Services session failed with the following error: Failed to connect to the
Analysis Services server sbanb-sqldeve1. Error: The connection string to
repository needs to be specified in the 9.0 server properties (see
<DSO>...</DSO> section in msmdsrv.ini file from Analysis Services 9.0).

Has anyone got any ideas as to what is going on here??

Thanks

Chris Hughes

Hi Paul

Chris, you're quite right. These SQL components should be installed on the
Project Server Application Server (if you have split out your front end
servers).
