Project Server 2007 - Getting rid of old tasks

E

Eddie

Hi, i cant seem to get rid of completed task out of my resources task
list. any tips on how to do this?

In Project 2003 you would set the resource assignment to proposed.
does this still work? or do i need to archive the project?

Hi Eddie,

You can hide tasks which have finished from more than ten days.

Go to: My Tasks, click on View Options button, check Show Only Current
Tasks option and click Apply.

Hope this helps,

Carla

Yeah. that doesn't seem to work for some tasks. not quite sure why.
This was an entry for today.

these tasks are complete. Now something weird happened. i click one
and selected to re-assign a task. I cancelled it and they all
disappeared. a little spooky. Project 2007 is a little like that :)

Seems like some of them were sitting as "Update not submitted", but if
you selected it and press submit selected they didn't go away. must be
a gremlin in that stuff. Doing something in one seemed to clear a
whole lot of them.

Hi,

That I cannot answer you because I'm also trying to understand the new
features of Project Server 2007.

:)

If a task as Actual Work and it is deleted from the plan it won't go
away from the Timesheet.
Then when you try to import the timesheet it fails because this task
doesn't exist.

But this is only one of the many problems I've experienced, the one
you're telling me about is new to me.

Eddie,

There is a hotfix for this available for download by the KB Article Rollup.
If you install this hotfix, it might fix your issue and will start working
as it is expected to work and as it works in Project Server 2003.
