Why isn't the Task ID available in any of the "My Work" views? We
have tried creating a custom field with a formula value of [ID]. This
custom field is avaiable in Project views, but not in any of the My
Work view types (e.g. My Assignments). The only custom views that
show up the the My Work views are those with lookup tables, but you
cannot put a formula into a lookup table. So, any ideas how to get
something as basic as the Task ID number to show up in My
Assignments? Why would we want this? Well, for some very large
projects (hundreds or thousands of tasks), it is a way for the
resource to quickly find the task in context in a Project view. While
the Detail view will display the immediate predecessors and dependent
tasks, this may not be enough contextual information. Since there is
no search feature in the Project view, locating a particular task can
be quite tedious, especially when many Task Names are similar. If
there was a hyperlink to the task line in the Project view, this would
have been acceptable, but harder to accoumplish then simply making the
Task ID available.
