Project Server 2007 - PreInstallation Question

D

Donald Ashworth

Good morning. I am reading through available Microsoft Deployment
documentation for Project Server 2007, and would like to see a simple
document providing sample Domain and local User Accounts (with associated
Privileges) "recommened by Microsoft" during the installation of Project
Server 2007 in a medium farm environment. I know that Microsoft will not
recommend actual Account Names...however it would be nice to see what names
others are using.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Don

BTW: These are the types of account samples I am looking for;

* Windows SharePoint Services Service Account
* Application Pool Security Account
* Site Collection Owner Account
* Shared Service Provider Administrator
* Project Server Instance Administrator Account

Our corporate environment is tightly managed. I will not be able to create
these domain accounts, or even the local machine accounts, or install the
software myself. I need to be able to "exactly describe in writing" what has
to be done, and then created Maintenenace Tickets in order to make things
happen. This is why I want to find this type of information, and "get it
right" the first time.

Domain groups should be none. Follow the installation instructions for local
system group membership. If you also use the account to perform the
installation, you'll need to make it a local admin on the box(es)
temporarily. If you do this, you'll also notice that the account will become
the dbo for the databases which eliminates some of the SQL access steps
unless you want to redact those rights.

What domain/local groups would you place this account in (if any)

Thanks
