Project Server 2007 - Queue jobs not processing

W

Will

When I go to Manage Queue Jobs, the jobs will not process. I can
connect to the DB with SQL Server Management Studio without issue. I
checked the event log, and I see this:

The Execute method of job definition
Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Administration.SPSearchJobDefinition (ID
6ff8e8fc-a7ed-4e5f-8ae8-63fd550c378f) threw an exception. More
information is included below.

A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the
server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - The pipe is
being closed.)

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I know almost nothing about Sharepoint and Project Server, how do I go
about troubleshooting this issue?

Is SQL installed on the same server as WSS/Project Server ?

If not, make sure "allow remote connections" is enabled in the surface
configuration tool. Also ensure that TCP/IP and Named Pipes are enabled in
SQL. (Named Pipes are only really needed for search components of WSS, and
not project server, but there's no harm in openining them).

Will, if you haven't done so already, one thing to try is to restart the
Microsoft Office Project Server Queue Service.
