Project Server 2007 running slow

Hi,
We are using project server 2007. Both the project server and the Sql
server 2005 running on the save server. The Server configuration is 4 GB RAM
and Intel Xenon 3.8 GHz processor. Now the database file size is 200 GB. We
are have around 200 projects with 150 active projects. And the users will be
around 250.

Now the server is running very slow. We provided the internet/intranet
access. Through internet access it is dead slow. Can any one advice for the
necessary steps to make to work fine.

Thanks in advance,
Arun

Arun:

You are pitifully under powered with this setup. I suggest separating SQL
Server and Project Server, and give your SQL Server 8 gig of RAM and dual
quad processors. Make sure the two servers are on the same gigabit subnet.
This will give you the most bang for the buck as disk IO on SQL Server is a
choke point. You might consider moving your front end server to a beefier
box (dual proc) as well.
