Project Server and EPM out of sync

Hi all,

I've been monitoring the task reminder emails that are produced from EPM,
and users are receiving reminders regarding tasks that are complete, no
longer on the project schedule, no longer assigned to the task, and on
projects that are closed. Does anyone have advice how to re-synchronize
project server with EPM?

We are using MS Project 2003 and Enterprise server on SP2.

I would re-publish the project, and potentially the option for all the
assignments assuming this is P2003, though I can't quite remember the actual
setting for 2003 offhand.

Interesting that you are deleting tasks from a project, assume that they
haven't had any work completed on them...

How are you closing the project?

Thanks Ben! I "inherited" this project from a previous project manager but
it looks like the tasks were deleted after they were 100% complete. Our PMO
Manager closes out the projects and I'll have to check with him about the
process. Thanks for the advice.

That would be the cause of the problem. By doing this, the former PM created
assignment orphans in the database. These are, in turn, causing the system
to generate reminders. The quickest way to overcome the problem is to save
the project to a file, delete the project from the server and then import
the project back to the server.
