Quick question, if I apply the latest update

does it include all previous updates ie, April(968860), june(971502),
August(973937) and October(974990)

??

I think what you want to do is select from the following to locate the
October Cumulative updates that apply to your system:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976730

The KB you cite is a hot fix for a very specific purpose and you should
install this only if you require it.
