Project Server error adjusting actuals

B

Buzzy

Recently, (like today), I have been getting an error message when I try to
re-arrange time into other tasks, or add new tasks and hours. The error
states:

"Your action may result in actuals in this project becoming out of synch
with the actuals updated from timesheets.

You can: synch actuals with the Synch actuals command on the Tracking menu,
or synch actuals when you save the project."

Has anyone seen this, and know what can be done to allow the movement of
hours, and the addition of tasks and hours?

I haven't ever come across this error in Projecrt Server.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Buzzy --

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
micrososoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is closing
down. To answer this question, the warning message you received is as a
consequence of your organization's use of Managed Time Periods in Project
Server. The use of the feature will prevent you from manually entering
actuals in the Microsoft Project plan and requires all actuals to be entered
and submitted through PWA. You need to click Tools - Tracking - Sync to
Actuals to reset the project to its previous state, and then enter the
actuals on the View my tasks page in PWA. Hope this helps.
