Project Server migration

Helo guys,

Please I have requirement to move the current project server instance from
one machine to another. The current set up is one sql server db and a project
server machine. All I am suppose to do is move the project server from its
current machine to another. Please any insight?

Hi there,

Yep you nobbed it on it's head. You will need to install Project on the new
server, that should install WSS or install MOSS before you install project.
Then make sure the new server is on the same SP level as the current one. Do
a farm backup from SharePoint Central Admin. Restore the backup to the new
server, the only thing you might have to do manually is the project
workspaces, but that can be done by importing/exporting using STSADM.

Hey there,

I mentioned about the workspace export / import , but when doing a Farm
Backup this will NOT be needed to done. Only when you just restore the 4
ProjectServer Databases. Sorry for that.
