Project Server Projectwise Resource grouping

HI All,

We have project server 2003 installed with WSS 2003 on win 2003 server. We
have enterprise resources on the project server. When we click on the
Resources we get all the resources across all the project together. Instead
we would like to see the resources Team/project wise. How can we configure
this?

Please help.
Thanks,
Vani

Vani -

I would create custom enterprise fields for Team and Project and
associate them to the resources. Team will be easy, Project perhaps
not so easy. Then you can group your resources by those fields.

Have you specified the team information for each resource anywhere in
Project Server? If so, how and where? If you have not entered this
information anywhere, you cannot apply filtering or grouping on it. Let us
know.

Thanks Mark and Dale for the response.
I have not specified the team information anywhere in the for the Resources.
But it is being exported to Project server from Project Plan that is related
to specific project.
Please clarify these queries.
1. How to specify the resources are allocated to which project during the
creation of Resources or exporting them to Project Server?
2. How to specify the resources are allocated to which project after the
resources has been created in project server?
3. How to allocate a particular resource for multiple projects in project
server? we have resources who are part of multuple projects, in each project
plan for projects, we have assigned few task to those resources. we are able
to get those tasks in task view for all the projects with respective project
names. But we want to know how to filter them with respect to projects?
4. When we get different resource based reports, we should be able to get
projectwise resource statistics. How can we configure the resources to have
these features?

Thanks
Vani

When you say "team" and I say "team", I think we are talking about two
different concepts. When I say "team", I mean that someone is part of the
DBA team, or the Network Operations team, or the Software Development team.
When you say "team", I think you may be referring to the project team. So,
if I am understanding you correctly, based on your four additional
questions, you can see your project teams by creating a new Portfolio
Analyzer view. This new View should contain the Projects and Resources
dimensions in the Row fields drop area. You can add the Time dimension to
the Row fields drop area and Work in the Total fields drop area if you wish.
This View will show you each project in the system, and the team members
assigned to work in each project. Hope this helps.
