Project Server Resource

I have one resource that refuses to save through MS Project. I open the resource from PWA to add a vacation day and when I hit save I get the error "Resource Name already in use". This is not a new resource and he has vacation days applied previously. All other resources I've tested adding working exceptions are fine.

I can't seem to find the cause via Google, and I don't know what will happen to various project plans if I delete, then recreate the resource. Would this work without affecting other plans?
