Project Server Security Logon

When starting up Project Professional 2003, I am presented with a logon
dialog box for Project Server. It says, 'Enter you logon information for
the server http://<my servername>/projectserver:'

It does not, however, give me any choices to select or text boxes to fill
in. After waiting a minute, my only alternative is to hit the cancel
button. I am then presented with the Project Server Accounts dialog box,
which allows me to select my Server account. If I select the account which
has been designated as my default account (which should have been the one
that was automatically attempted), I successfully log on to the server.

If I exit Project and restart it immediately, I am able to restart without
encountering the same problems. However, if I wait a while, and then stop
and restart the application, I have the same problem outlined above.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

There is a setting that allows you to manually control the connection settings that are used when project pro starts up. It's available in the project server accounts applet, where you setup your user account settings. Near the bottom of that window it's a pair of radio buttons that says "automatically detect connection state" or "manually control connection state". Change it to manual and see if that helps.

Unfortunately, that didn't help. I am brought to the initial screen that
allows me to connect to project server, but then I fail on the first
attempt. On the second attempt, I am successful.
