Project Server still emailing resources despite no remaining work

R

Ryan Miller

Good Morning:

I have a few cases where Project Server is emailing resources with overdue notices despite the fact that there is 0 remaining work for those tasks/assignments.

Does anyone have any idea why this is occurring and how to resolve the issue?

Thanks for your help

Ryan

Hello Ryan,

Did you ever find any resolution to this issue???

I have a few users who are experiencng the same problem and would like to help them resolve it ASAP.

Any light you could shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

Guys:

This is caused by orphaned assigment records in the MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENTS
table. Assignments can become orphaned when Project Managers delete tasks
before closing out their incomplete assignments; aka lack of training. To
correct the problem, you need to find the orphans and remove them. No,
there's no delete orphaned assignments button, so you'll need to find
someone with SQL skills and study the svrdb.htm document available on your
installation media and in your server's help directories.

Sounds like it's worth a try. It ought to work.

Thanks for the info. Gary!!!

I will try what you suggest and also start using the other discussion
group site since this one is going away. However, I had one scenario to run
by you to see if that would work as well...
Would it work to export the project to get it off of the project sever,
delete it off of the server, then re-import it instead?
