Project Server - where to start

J

Jessie

Direction for Project. We curently are using Project
2000. With 65 copies it seems as if there is an easier way
than installing locally plus those who don't have Project
can't view the files others are sending. Will Project
server be a better way AND will others without Project be
able to view the MPP files.

Any good FAQ's, install papers, how to files, white papers
etc.. on Project server

The Microsoft site has a number of very good references
that can be downloaded including
User Guides and Demonstrations.

Project Server is as the name suggests a true Server
product. Files are not stored as mpp files on desparate
pc's. All data is stored central in on a SQL Server
allowing centalised management and wide area
collaboration.

Go to the Downloads diretory at Microsoft Project Server
and have a look through the material. The link below is
to the TechNet site with the primary Project 2003 pdf
user guides.

These are a great start.

Alternatvely go to Information Worker at

agement/conclusion.aspx

for some sales and marketing info.
