Hello,

I want to install msproject server2003 on my sbs2003 server
I have sbs2003 standard, no sql
I installed MS SQL Server Desktop Engine and specified a named instance
configured to use windows authentication
with a strong SA password.

When i start project server2003 setup, i choose for 'create a new database'.
I have to enter the connection information to create a new database on the
DATABASE SERVER: field.
When i give in my servername, i get the message that the serveris not
responding, check that the name is valid.....

Do i make a mistake, do i have to fill in another name than my servername,
instancename ??

Hi:

If you're going to install Project Server you must read and follow the
installation guide. For starters, Project Server requires SQL Server to be
set to support TCPIP and mixed authentication. You state that you've set SQL
for Windows Auth. Besides the Project Server installation guide, you'll want
to have a look at Chris Jones' (SBS MVP) special instructions for SBS:
