Project Summary task in PWA

J

Jose M. Dominguez

Hello:

We've got some projects with tasks that have some delays
because resources have not been able to work on them.

What is shocking me is that the dates (start and finish
fields) reflected on the project summary task are not
getting delayed on project web access views, as well as
the gantt charts related.

That means that the summary bars do not reflect the
information of tasks beneath. And normally in Project
proffessional the dates of the project summary tasks can't
be edited, they're always updated with the tasks of the
project (min. date , max. date).

What is happening? A bug, or this is the real
functionality?

Thank You
Jose

Are you manually rescheduling the remaining work on tasks that have fallen
behind schedule?

Hi Dale:

I've done some as a test, but I don't know if I did in
this particular case.

I don't know if this happened because this project was
published with the options-> manual schedule of project
professional.

If you can clarify this a bit I would really apreciate it

Thank You

Jose -

To manually reschedule remaining work on a project that has been delayed,
click Tools - Tracking - Update Project. You can then select the date AFTER
which work will be rescheduled, and whether to reschedule all tasks or only
the selected tasks. Hope this helps.

Jose:

When users status tasks through the PWA by reporting time or percent
complete, the update process automatically reschedules the uncompleted parts
of the task to the current status date. For tasks that resources don't
touch, the Project Manager must use Tools > Tacking to reschedule unstarted
or untouched work.
